Winelands Multi-Day
Five or six days linking Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl point to point, with the option of an Elgin day. The full Winelands, for a group that wants a proper trip.
How this trip is run
This is an example trip. It would be run by a local partner operator and booked through Cape Line Co. The days, lodging and price are set out in your written proposal.
The trip
A trip worth
booking a flight for.
The Winelands Multi-Day strings the three valleys together into one journey: Stellenbosch's big mountain days, the Banhoek traverse into Franschhoek, and Paarl's granite and flow trail, with an Elgin day for groups that want cooler, grippier riding.
It suits strong intermediate groups and clubs that want a proper trip rather than a series of day rides, and it's the trip we'd point most first-time visitors towards.
This is an example of the kind of trip a partner operator can run for you, not a fixed departure. The days above are a sample. Your written proposal sets out the exact trails, guides, lodging and price for your dates.
Sample days
A sample itinerary
Transfer from Cape Town, bike fit, and a short shakedown ride on the trails above town. Briefing over dinner.
A full traverse of the Stellenbosch Mountain and Jonkershoek trails, the benchmark day of the Winelands.
Conservancy trails through the Banhoek valley, finishing on the Franschhoek estate singletrack. Two nights in the village.
An easy spin on the Boschendal loops and a long lunch, or the Franschhoek Pass and plateau for groups that want distance.
The granite mountain and the built trail network around it. A different feel from the first days, with big valley views.
Either an Elgin day in the cooler apple country, or a final descent back towards Stellenbosch and a transfer to Cape Town.
