Who we are
Cape Line Co. ("we", "us") is a mountain bike trip agent based in Cape Town, South Africa. We plan trips and refer riders to independent local partner operators who run them. This notice is issued under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) and, for riders in the EU and UK, the GDPR.

Information Officer: to be confirmed before publication.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry we collect the details you give us: your name, email address, country, group size, riding background, preferred dates and anything you write in the message field. If you contact us by email or chat, we keep that correspondence.
We do not collect payment details. Payment is made directly to the partner operator under their own terms and privacy notice.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and plan a trip with you.
- To prepare a proposal, which means sharing your brief with one or more partner operators.
- To stay in touch about your trip before, during and after it.
- To tell you about future trips, only if you ticked the consent box or asked us to.
Who we share it with
We share your enquiry details with the partner operator(s) we ask to prepare a proposal for you, and with the operator you book with. We don't sell your information and we don't share it with anyone else, except service providers who host our website and email, and where the law requires it.
Partner operators are in South Africa. If you are in the EU or UK, your information is transferred to South Africa on the basis of your request for a proposal.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and trip correspondence for as long as needed to plan and support your trip, and for up to three years afterwards so we can help with repeat bookings and feedback. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, withdraw consent to marketing at any time, and object to how we use it. Email the privacy contact above. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) or your local data protection authority.
